I agree. The whole wheat croissants at the Peninsula are excellent. The millefeuille at Le Normandie at the Oriental is superb and is just as good as Fauchon or Ladurée. I've also had pastries from the Sukhothai and the Four Seasons and have found them also to be excellent.

Would it help to put the baguette in the oven for 5 minutes at 175°C? The crust should become crispy again, shouldn't it?
