Okay, good point, Evan, though for some reason this alone isn't comforting for me . And also, yeah, to the many others who suggested "miles" makes the most sense given the tangled web of "points" from non-airline programs, I can see your points (no pun intended).

Still, I think it's weird, even though I've been accumulating airline miles for more than 15 years (I know, I know, that's still peanuts compared to many of you :P)

I mean, imagine if the regular economy worked that way?

A job could pay you hours. You could redeem 25,000 hours for $1,000 pay check. Or for a $300 overpriced iPod

Or, if your job is stuffing envelopes, you could get paid in envelopes. Well, not literal envelopes. You know, 25,000 envelopes stuffed equals $1,000 hours. Er, I mean dollars.

Okay, okay, I'll shut up now. I've been outvoted. I just have a weird sense of internal logic I guess
