YOU ARE SO CORRECT, I buy mine from the Sofitel down in Silom Road, IIRC under the brand of Lenotre which you also see around town. The humidity of Bangkok ruins the freshness the moment you leave the shop, they just go soggy, so I get my enjoyment in their small cake shop with a short black and a lime juice with sugar syrup on the side. Initially I had a French Bakery alongside the Sheraton, but that closed and the present owners idea of a baguette and mine are different. Another good baker is the Dusit Thani, now they use a nice flour and get a crunchy top. These cooks aren't bad, I have bought some tasty stuff from them to eat back in the room. (it's a sad life!). The Oriental shop down the back of Paragon where they have an English chef is good, he bakes up some interesting bread/buns/rolls each day and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he did baguettes. I go there for his creme caramels. OT, but if you like dried fruits, try the shop in front of the supermarket at Paragon, regards bkkrop
