Bob Baker, why don't you take some time here and learn a bit of how the airline industry works instead of announcing how many signatures you have gotten on your petition. Get an appreciation of the challenges airlines face!

For example -- today, Calgary is so cold that even your petition would freeze. Planes are freezing up and ground crews probably need a jacket thicker than anything you or I have ever worn. So what happens? Is this AC's fault? Do you think they told the Weather Gods to freeze ever effing plane so they can make everyone's lives miserable?

Another example -- right now, Montreal has snow pellets. Planes are probably slipping and sliding and it's probably not a nice place for ground crews. So what happens? Is this AC's fault? Again, do you think they told the Weather Gods to freeze ever plane so they can make everyone's lives miserable?

Obviously it's not their fault in both cases. They don't have any control of the weather (last time I checked), so why should AC compensate the passenger for something that wasn't their fault?

Or would you rather the plane takes off in an unsafe situation and then have an accident happen?

Sure it sucks for everyone, but let's face reality here! AC is not a charity. They are a business. Just like Wal-Mart -- do you complain if their shelves are empty because they are not able to get a shipment in because of weather?
