Speaking of Cancun...I just booked a flight in late Feb from SFO to CUN. I haven't flown out of the country in a long time and I was wondering about how early I should show up at the airport for the trip back and if there are any other travel issues I may have to deal besides having a valid passport, no illegal items etc. Any advice especially about the Cancun area would be appreciated. Hopefully I can snag an upgrade both ways...
Well, SFO departs from the Int'l Terminal, which is a breeze. However, there are no lounges for BR members (but there is for Priority Pass). CUN is now in T-3, despite the outdated AS website info, which is very nice (but crowded and busy) terminal. I arrived quite early as I had to get out of my hotel, and decided I'd hang out in the lounge (Priority Pass-affiliated) - there were only a few people wanting to check in for the AS flight. I'd say 2:30 is plenty of time in advance. All-in-all, an easy experience. By the way, your over 3 oz. contact lens solution is very hazardous and will be confiscated as a possible explosive.
