It hasn't happened to me on AS but I experienced an aborted landing on a UA flight at ORD a few years back. To me it looked like we were almost on the ground when the pilot "floored it" (sorry -- I don't know proper airplane lingo) and accelerated sharply up and to the right. We made a rather dramatic turn going upward, with handbags and such sliding out from under the seats. Thank goodness we were all buckled in.

After we had leveled out the captain announced very calmly that someone else had been on our runway so we were going to go around and try again. Fortunately the next try was uneventful and the pilots received a round of applause. In retrospsect I wish I had asked the pilot during deboarding just how close to the runway we had come on the first try. It sure looked close.
