I don't think it's a question about being right or wrong. It's a question about what you want to do.
Frankly, you picked a bad time to research a new employer. If you did it just now, nearly at the point of no return, then you chose to start your research at a poor time.
Admittedly, you came into the wrong place to ask about the TSA. Most people here do not like the TSA, for varying reasons. The underlying reason is that we know the TSA is there primarily for show, and not for actual security.
Not long from now, you'll see first-hand that if you keep your mouth shut and grope strangers with a smile on your face, you'll be fine -- those are the key points to job security at the TSA. It's okay if you let a bomb or its components slip through, you'll just get "remedial training."
