Last month, I went through a series of airports in countries in the eastern part of the world. [Not going to mention airport names and make the life of passengers there horrible] There were signs everywhere about the liquid ban and the need to have them in 100ml or less in a plastic baggie. In one airport there was the droning TSA like announcement about the liquid ban.

But no one even bothered with any of the liquids in my carry on bag. I had an 1 liter bottle of water attached to the side of the bag and that did not get stopped either. I guess they were showing signs of being part of the charade but did not really believe in it. In one case, I noticed them handing a bottle of water to a passenger when it dropped out the bag whilst taking it out of the X-Ray machine.

Needless to say it is the US and the major airports that its airlines fly to that are still caught up in this nonsense. Auckland does not bother with liquid bans on domestic flights...enlightenment.
