Similarly, I stayed at some high-end hotel in Minneapolis (I think it was the one that used to be the Meridien, now has some weird name like Graves or something) with newly remodeled rooms, and no bathtub!
I've noticed this too, most recently at the US Grant in SAN - gorgeous rooms, a shower stall you could park a car in, but no tub in sight!
