I hadn't really done much shopping through the portal before. Last week Dell had an incredible deal on XPS laptops, and one of us gets a "Dell employee discount" through work. This requires a different log-in than the eShopping portal provides. So what I did is go through the regular Dell website and built the computer configuration. I then saved it with the employee code, coupon code, and other info into my Dell cart, then went back in through eShopping, retrieved my cart through the eShopping Dell portal and placed the order. That should earn me the additional more or less 1,500 miles that otherwise I wouldn't have received. The same strategy may work in other combinations with coupons, promo codes, etc. @:-)

It might work-there is a very real posibility that it will not however.
You did your shopping,it saved the info(cookies)and that flags the purchase as originating from outside the parramiters of the shopping portal.So there is one reason they do not have to(but they might)give you miles
The other is the use of a discount code-which historicly has negated any miles/points.
Again-you might luck out,but don't be sad/suprised if you do not earn miles for this purchase.
I sometimes have to weigh a great discount opportunity againg receiving points/miles and unless there is a promo going on the discount usually wins.
