FLYTHETAIL: I looked in the fare rules but it says nothing about what happens if there is a decrease in fare. ANd i did a search on the word decrease in the document too..

since i got a voucher already should i try and argue that it is a $50 admin fee and get the extra 50 in voucher's?

would it help any to say that this is an international itinerary...maybe the admin fees differ for domestic and international?
There is definitely no such thing as a refund back to the credit unless unless you have purchased a refundable fare or you are using the Customer First policy (which allows you to refund the ticket by midnight the day after purchase). Of course, death of the traveling person, their immediately family member or their traveling companion also will get you a refund.

I'm honestly not sure of the Guarantee Day of Purchase rules on international itineraries - but my guess is that they don't exist. I've done a few searches on international itineraries and there is no mention of the GDP rules. Can you please post what your fare basis is for the ticket? My hunch tells me it's higher than Q.

I believe what happened is they cancelled your ticket and applied that value to the new ticket - minus the change fee. I'm guessing the change fee on your ticket was $100 which is why you got $100 back as a voucher. And yes, because it's a non-refundable ticket that you purchased, the $100 difference is only returned to you as a voucher and not to your credit card.

The $50 administrative fee only applies to domestic itineraries.
