Hi sambb,

The rome flight on BA arrives at LHR Terminal 1 and AA leaves from Terminal 3.

You have to reclear security eaven though you are still airside as BAA/Dft has a requirement to screen connecting pax.

You should get your AA boarding pass when you check in at BA in FCO ( and get your bags checked through.

Once you leave the BA aircraft , follow signs for the flight connections Centre ( " FCC" where you clear security , after that there are transfer desks ( inc those for AA) then follow signs for Terminal 3 ( an escalator down and then a bus to T3- Be careful you do not get on the bus to Terminal 4).

Once in Terminal 3 you can shop or as you are in AA business you can go to the Admirals Club ( follow signs for lounge H I think)

Regards
