If you're not checking bags, its real easy to travel without ID, check in online or at a kiosk. Don't show your ID - your choice as to if you say "I don't have my ID" or "I'm fyling without ID because I don't believe in....". The latter will make things go smoothly. The SSSS treatment as described in prior posts will apply.
If you're checking bags, it can be difficult, since most airlines have a policy that ID is needed to check bags. Based on a blog I read somehwere, you'll get more questions like are you at home or going home, is there anyway your ID can be brought to you, etc.
Even if you check in online, I believe TSA will insist on a boarding pass with the SSSS on it. So when you go to the ticket counter you are at the mercy of the airline or the ticket agent's interpretation of the airline's policy. Some airlines require ID.
So check with your airline.
