BA to AA connection at LHR - gen advice

Could someone offer me some general advice on a BA to AA connection? I fly from FCO to LHR tomorrow, and then on to ORD via AA in buisness class. (FCO-LHR flight is in Y). I have searched and I have become overrun with the amount of LHR information, that I have just become more confused. I dont even know which terminal I will land in, though I know it will be different from my outbound flight. I haven't been to LHR in several years, and I am a little nervous. I particularly dont understand how one has to go through security again if one is airside. So I am confused. Can any kind BA flyer help me with this? What to expect for when I land, and what is the basic best way to get to the outbound AA flight if I have a business class ticket for my onward journey (but not for my FCO-LHR flight). Thanks. And what is the FCC? Why do I need to go there and why do some choose not to?
