Can't comment about service, but I went to the hotel early this week. David Collins did a wonderful job renovating this property. The hint of Art Deco that was RIHGA and (so very briefly) JW Marriott is gone. The decor now feels sophisticated, elegant and luxurious.
The suites are beautifully done. You have a choice of large shower with 2 shower heads, or a bathroom with a tub. (All rooms are 1 BR Suites)
The dining room is handled by Gordon Ramsay and IIRC, the formal restaurant has a Michelin star (or two?)
This hotel probably has one of the best bargains in NYC. Rooms go as low as $400 during certain nights in Winter and Summer.
