I would say it is not a "standard" practice. As you might know, we work including myself with an all-volunteer group. This group like yourself has regular if not irregular lives that include travel, family and yes, real jobs.

I think it easy to say that all the volunteers strive for communicating this type of information to the member, but really, I know from personal experience that it is simply not possible. There are many a member that does have a "heads up" from me when i've deleted, edited or changed something regarding their post in OMNi and elsewhere ... and indeed there are some that will rightfully say they did not get anything. The number of times that I started to send a "heads up" but was interrupted by a conference call, last boarding call, "honey when are you coming home phone call", or "Randy, come here real quick..." from an employe of mine are uncountable. And yes these interruptions then can go forgotten with good intentions. But it is not a standard practice.

I did look at your particular post and actually see nothing controversial. But I was not there at the time and place of the review of the thread. As we know from sporting events and even normal human interaction, we all are quite capable of seeing things different even when they are right there in front of us.

Anyway, i did restore your particular post and will now wonder like others if your guess of the bidding price for the SPG Superb Owl package is right on.

As for "Superb Owl", i think i remember Sporting News or Sports Illustrated using that same word for the Super Bowl in the past. And while i have all the respect in the world for those that manage their "brands," I don't know who is the most rabid, Super Bowl folks or the Olympic "rings" people.

Anyway, if ever you or another member has a question about a post of yours, take the time to drop me a PM. I don't mind looking in on it. But remember, you just might have to take second place when my tech guy comes running in to tell me we have a server that's acting funny......

But seriously, thanks for your support of FlyerTalk.
