Looks like a new Westin is confirmed as part of a development in the Snow Hill area in central Birmingham. It is not due to open until 2010, but it is good news none the less for a new UK option outside of London.

Snow Hill is just off the main centre at the end of Colmore row (I suspect I know which part they are redeveloping) althugh I havent been to the area for a few months.

It isn't a bad location but a little off the main hotel concentrations of the Mailbox and Brindley place.
