I would check the bags at least 90 mins before departure time, and be at the security line no later than 1 hour before your flight. SFO international security, at this time of year anyway, is a breeze, but you never know!

There are a number of good lunch options near the international security area, so one idea is to meet your SO there and have some good Asian food!
