Careful. Technically the BA luggage allowance now is max 23kg in all classes. It doesn't sound like you are connecting straight throught to MAD from your long-haul flight? If you are in ET (economy) I would expect BA staff at LGW would enforce 23kg. If you are in CE (business) you might still have to argue your case (pardon the pun!)
