The Grand Stamford barely qualifies as a Crowne Plaza IMHO.
And here you go:
IC Grand Stanford Hongkong
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
No, it was the second worse IC I have ever been to.
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked the cheapest room, upgraded to deluxe harborview.
How are the rooms?
For Hongkong Hotels, acceptable size. Décor looks like from 1982. Bathroom very small, no seperate bath/ shower. Shower head terrible, to low, no pressure. Doesn't even every HIX guarantee "Power Shower"??
Mattress worn, too soft, obviously very old.
Well stocked minibar, a lot of snacks, though I don't know if they were free for RA.
How is the exec. lounge?
No access
What was good and what was bad?
Good:
- Big box of pralines for RA, free drink, free 15-min shoulder massage.
Bad:
- Staff attitude at check-in most arrogant. Was told: "As a general rule at this hotel, latest check-out for RA is 2 p.m." I didn't even request late check-out, why was she telling me that? General rule?? I thought we get late check-out whenever available.
- Bellboy who opened taxi door when I arrived and watched me getting my luggage out of the trunk and asked: "Am I supposed to help you"? ... Other Concierge Staff was friendly though.
- Tour/Ticket/Visa desk didn't come back to me. (Requested Ferry tickets), they forgot it.
- What's up with that décor and style? It feels like going back to the 80s! There are nicer HI than this IC.
Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Would never return again. Rate was incredibly high also for HK standard, value was very bad.
