The view is exceptional from the harbour rooms. However, as an RA you need to book a harbour view to be upgraded to a harbour view junior suite. If you book a street view room on points, your upgrade is likely to be to a junior suite overlooking the street. Something to think about.
Booked 1 nite for $$, 1 nite for points, early March. Received an immediate upgrade from Deluxe Harbour View King to Junior Harbour View Suite, but only for the $$ nite; points nite remained at King Superior Plaza View.
Called the hotel directly and spoke w/ Guest Services. Was told it is not the Hotel's policy to upgrade point nite stays, but that they would do it for HK$2,000. I mentioned that the Grand Stanford down the street (where we will be staying immediately prior to our HK IC stay) had no such policy and was not asking us to change rooms between our $$ niteand our points nite. Agent said she would check with management and see if a "compromise" can be offered. Waiting for her to call back.
BTW, the $$ rate for the HK IC room is double that of the Grand Stanford, point rate is 40K vs. 30Kb! Is the HK IC that much nicer than the Grand Stanford?
