Thanks for the info. I did it and it worked out pretty well. I was pleasantly surprised by Mexicana's service on both segments. Going through immigration to the hotel was indeed a breeze and I got a full night's sleep in between the flights. At first I thought the hotel room would be noisy but it was very well insulated (two sets of windows with a few inches of air in between).

I've flown from the West Coast to EZE dozens of times and this has been my most comfortable experience so far.
