Had my first Club trip from Terminal 1 yesterday and it was fab!
Loved Zone R - VERY quiet (only a group of half a dozen o so Virgin Cabin Crew checking-in at the CW desks infront of us), no queue for security, very friendly security agents (chatty and helpful), got an appointment at the Elemis Spa (without a problem), liked the lounge, had a great snack at the Caviar House/Prunier, followed by a great flight on a half-empty upper deck of a 747 (my favourite way to fly - love the upper deck of the 747

). Got to LAX - zero queue at immigration and luggage arrived safely and very quickly (maybe I will wake up in a minute - it was all too perfect!

).
Had a great prawn curry on the plane and really enjoyed the Club Kitchen. Was very happy with the NGCW seats - quite a few imporvments in my mind. Mourned the loss of the scones, but the cornish pasty was actually quite nice. Cabin temperature was unusually good throughout the flight - didn't start to boil half-way through the flight.
One thing that I found quite odd with Zone R - the Virgin cabin crew checked in at the CW desks, BUT they were not allowed to go through the premium security channel (as they were headed towards it, one of the BA staff called out to them and then directed them to regular security in the main terminal). That seemed odd to me... (to be able to use premium check-in, but not premium security).
Any ^ to BA for a great Premium experience at T1 - it really put T1 in a completely different light to how we have experienced it before
