I just booked a reservation at a Doubletree which is "non-refundable and may not be changed or cancelled." Go figure.. first one I ever made that is under these terms and I cannot go after all - major change of plans.

I guess I am out that money and the two nights?? I don't know of any ways around, but saying some fictitious flight was canceled.

I can't even cancel it, so the poor hotel won't even entertain the nice courtesy phone call from me saying, "Hey, I cannot make it - open the room for someone else [and keep your money]."

I'll pay the extra next time and keep the refundable reservations. Anyone want my room? haha.
