I also had a great experience at the Renaissance Vinoy. A lot of MLB teams stay here when they're in town to play the Devil Rays as well. The Baltimore Orioles were there. Had a drink at the bar next to some of their coaching staff and had a nice chat. At the end of the night, the bartender found out it was my birthday and tore up my check.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
The Vinoy is also mentioned in a front page NY Times story about the Roger Clements/steroids imbroglio. According to the Times story, former Yankee's trainer Brian McNamee had drunken late night sex in the swimming pool with a woman who may not have been willing. According to the story, both McNamee and the woman were naked.
