I also had a great experience at the Renaissance Vinoy. It just so happened that I was in Tampa/St. Pete for business on my birthday and they really went out of their way to ensure I had a happy birthday, even on the road. I was upgraded to one of the first floor rooms with the private hot tub on the veranda (or porch, I guess). A full bottle of champagne and a birthday cake delivered to my room in addition to my Platinum Gift.

A lot of MLB teams stay here when they're in town to play the Devil Rays as well. The Baltimore Orioles were there. Had a drink at the bar next to some of their coaching staff and had a nice chat. At the end of the night, the bartender found out it was my birthday and tore up my check.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
