I Think It Worked
I have a trip this summer for my family of five using DL Skysaver and three of four legs are on AF metal. Two are inter-Europe so seats will be assigned at check in. But the return to NY is on AF metal out of CDG. I went to the US AF web site and tried my PNR number and last name....no good. Went through my DL emails and found the original booking conformation which had my 13 digit ticket number. Entered that and last name on the AF site and the entire itinerary popped up. So far so good.
Went to seat selection and the A340 seat map popped up. As I clicked on the seat a "Testing" warning window popped up. But my selected seat showed the number 1 (first in my party). If I clicked on the next passenger name and then selected a seat it just moved me (#1) around. If I however selected another passenger (#3) and then the right one (#2), it let me pick the seat for passenger #2 on my itinerary. I did this for all five. The seat numbers did not enter into the space next to the person's name but one by one, the seat map incremented the five people in my party (I took 24AB, 25AB and 24D). When I pressed submit (I think I had to hit it twice), the seatmap window closed and the seat numbers appeared correctly next to each person on the itinerary page. I exited the site and returned later and the seat selections held (at least for now).
