If you're flying solo on the overnight HNL-EWR, I think it's the only way to go because as others have said, you have access to the aisle for bathroom breaks and you don't have to be "stepped over" by your neighbor as you would be if you took B or K. With the A and L window seats, you're trapped by your neighbor if you have to go to the restroom when everyone's asleep.
