Well, to be really clear, if you use a VIP to upgrade from Y, you're gonna be sitting in J. Sure, we all have one-time-at-band-camp stories about someone's sister's boyfriend's boss's ex-secretary's dad getting a double upgrade, but it happens about as frequently as straightforward accurate answers on FT.

To the OP, if you buy a Y ticket and use a VIP, you're gonna sit in J and cannot upgrade to F. Period.
