Unless of course you take the ride at a peak time and the regular class is full. After a long flight you might maybe not want to stand in the standby queue, eventhough in most of the times you will make it on to the boat.

Don't change too much. ATMs in Macau also dispense HK$ if not run out of (which happens regularly on sundays at highly frequented spots). Be aware, many places in Macau refuse to accept HK$ 10 coins. All other denominatinos are fine. Since the difference is only 3% it is not worth to change into MOP which are worthless once you left Macau. Some places might not have chnage in HK$ though. If you shop in New Yaohan (The department store near the ferry, opposite of Darling1) they will even discount you the 3% if you pay in HK$. (They take 100 HK$ for 103 MOP). Most other places charge you 1-1.
