I doubt there will be a problem getting the flight reinstated but if you are intent on flying BA49 LHR-SEA, then you will have no option but to book a different flight from Italy. BA2559 from BLQ will give you a reasonable connection, and isn't too far away from PSA. The only option available from PSA will be to overnight in London, or take Club on BA53 LHR-SEA.
Actually, the PSA-LGW had already been taken care of. I'm well aware of the scramble up M25, having had that pleasure. We had changed the flight to the previous night at the same time we were approved to take BA49. I believe the problem was that the BA system had not deleted the earlier connection. After much hand-wringing and lamentation, we have had our flights re-instated in the correct order.

Thanks for all the advice. I had not actually thought of BLQ, although that's not necessary any longer.
