Depending upon the weather, if you have only 2 days I would avoid the museums (unless it is cold/rainy

) . Although I may be flamed for it, I'd suggest taking one of those Hop On Hop Off bus tours to get acquainted with the city. You can do it right after you arrive, so you get a bit of rest from jet lag and also get a sense of the city. As for inexpensive food, go to a MonoPrix (like a small WalMark or Target-- but with lots of food/groceries/wine etc at cheap prices). I know there is one near the Louvre, just down from L'Opera. Get a good map and just walk around the city--or take the Metro (really EASY to navigate) to different neighborhoods and walk around. The lines for Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower can be really long, whereas the Arc de Triomphe isn't too bad (but you have to climb stairs for the latter-- no elevator

) Don't be afraid to look like a tourist, over 50% of the other people you'll see on the streets will be carrying tourbooks and cameras--and a good majority of those people are French!
