I did this about two years ago with a ticket of almost exactly this value. The first time I reused the ticket, I paid $100 fee and got an MCO (voucher) for the unused portion. From then on, I kept using the MCO and got a new MCO each time. Each MCO was issued as good for one year from the date of its transaction. So in this way, you could extend the validity of the value indefinitely.
