Just wanted to report back with my preliminary thoughts on The Atlantic, after having been here for 12 hours.
We (myself, my 8-year-old daughter and my nephews age 4 and 7) arrived at about 9pm last night. We received a warm welcome from at the front door and an offer to assist with our bags, but no pressure when we declined. (A pet peeve of mine is those places that won't even consider allowing you to carry your own bags, so this was a plus.) Another warm welcome greeted us at the front desk, where we were informed that we had been given oceanfront rooms. It really is a very nice view: the swimming pool is directly below, and the ocean just beyond, and the hotel is designed in such a way that you cannot even tell that Route A1A separates the hotel from the ocean, at least from our perspective on the 6th Floor.
The rooms are very spacious and modern looking -- no colors, just shades of white and brown. No flat screens, though. Very large bathroom with a separate (and also very large) shower. Kitchenettes in every room, including a wet bar, microwave, stove top and fridge with room for your own stuff in addition to the minibar stuff.
But based on my 12 hours here, I can tell you that I likely will never be back to the Boca Resort. This is a much nicer property.
