There are a few shining moments. I was flying on a pass product the other day, but did not upgrade (comp or cert) becuase I was flying home with a colleague that was on reward in back, and no one (believe me, I asked) would upgrade their ticket.

The load was light, and as we walked on, the service director recognized me, asked us where we were going, when I explained my colleagues fare class they prompty directed us to two open seats in J. And although it was a short 2hr flight, the service was great. Spectacular, in fact, and they even had the Lindt chocolates! (they can keep those chocolate chip cookies...).

I don't see this happening again for a while, but it was great to see...
