My wife and I are headed to Fiji in November. When using NZ's website to price out our itinerary, I am offered NZ-coded, FJ (Air Pacific)-operated flights between LAX and NAN. I see nothing on UA's website that explicitly would prohibit me from earning Mileage Plus miles for this travel. Will I earn Mileage Plus miles (both EQMs and RDMs) for this trip or will the unspoken rule that partner metal as well as the coding of the flight is required cost me the miles if I pay a premium over what FJ would charge and book my travel through NZ?
