I will tip my hat off to Jet for setting the standards for carriers based in India.
I myself have been on their aircraft a few times betwen SIN/DEL and SIN/MAA, but back then
it was the 737s.
I understand now there are using the A332s, and it is unfortunate I don't get the chance to fly them
as much as I would want to as my traveling priorities have changed recently.
I was already impressed by the inflight service I received and I identified some of the Singaporean crew
as being former crew members from SQ.

Anyway there is no perfect airline out there.
I have been a frequent flyer of SQ for more than 30 years, and I admit that the service back then as compared to now
have seen a drop.
I have had my fair share of bad experiences with SQ from missing luggages, delays, misconnections, failure to uplift special
meals and the list goes on and on.
Most of the time I don't really get anything for my troubles but I don't really
think so much after that.I put that down to my laid back attitude and for taking things in stride.
I have flown on many other carriers and have faced similar experiences elsewhere too.
I have to accept all these as part and parcel of air travel.

But I must also point out that there are some passengers flying nowadays who just seem to add to that 'unpleasant'
flight experiences.
Perhaps they don't seem to be aware that there are the ones that are the cause of 'bad service'.
I have seen passengers misbehaving and displaying boorish behaviours, making outlandish requests and just not using plain
old common sense.
I hate it when I see an already harrassed crew member, struggling to cope with a full flight, having to entertain
guests asking for this and asking for that and wanting it on the spot.
I do realise that we pay for premium service but does that also entitles us to be so demanding?

I remember the time when flying even in economy was such an event for some, that to see someone dressed to the nines
was very common.
Now you see passengers travelling in shorts and flip-flops up in first class.

I do not deny that there are cabin crew members who are extremely rude and lacking in customer service
training.
But sometimes I will put an unpleasant experience to luck- luck that I had to encounter an indifferent crew
and overall bad inflight service.
The next flight I will be on might turn out to be a pleasant one, regardless of the airline I take.

Anyway live and let live, I always say.
If you got something reasonable to complain about by all means go ahead.
But there some of us, a minority, that just needs to look at themselves in the mirror.

By the way an informed source told me that some top management types from Jet will always fly long haul..... on SQ.

Cheers!
