Overall I have not been happy with any hotel in New Orleans. They are getting better, but service is still poor. The W French Quarter is best, but not great. I would recomend your friend either go to Hilton or Marriot with that area. MSY and BHM are the only places with SPG in his area. Maybe then do a challange with SPG when he gets out of the south.
