I gave in and purchased the BA flights for my mom. She flew on a 777 from DXB to LHR and hated it. However, she flew a 767 from LHR to YYZ and loved it - she said it was better than AC and/or EK.

We chose a TA that had a close link with BA in Pakistan, so that we would be able to avoid talking to BA CS at all costs

The price, however, was just too good to say no to. Moral of the story: I am willing to forgo my principles for a good deal.
