I see a similar phenomenon at other RCCs, although with different magazines. And sometimes with different magazines at LAX. In my memory, it's been many a year since the selection in RCCs was predominantly of magazines that they subscribe to. Much more of the variety that are "pushed" -- e.g., of the single-interest promotional type, as what you describe. I'm not being critical, as sometimes they do line up with my interest - such as Business Traveler, for example - and there are so many that it's OK to take one. At least I don't find myself second-guessing what's going on in the magazine purchasing office (if there is such) as with the selection on the planes, where there will be a slew of one magazine one month, and a slew of another, the next. (The things that occupy one's mind after several hours in transit...non?)
