On the SQ vs Jet discussion, also interesting to note that Jet will be moving to T3 at Changi, while SQ will operate its India (and most regional flights except HKG / China / Japan) from T2. Another sign that SQ may be taking its India market a bit for granted, while Jet is sneaking up behind them. Odd to me why SQ would move China flights to T3, but not India, its other largest and very premium-heavy market.
Have not flown Jet's new widebodies yet, but sure am tempted to try them next time.
Uh? What difference does it make that India gets T3 and China gets T2? It was not up to SQ to make the choice but CIAS as to the timing of the flights and better utlisation of the aircrafts. SOUTH AFRICA is a long haul destination too and it got T2.
SQ in my opinion is doing as best it can on the India market but having said that, your other choice to go to CCU is well, Air India. And lets see if they make any service recovery or not. Basically the airline's contract is to get you from point A to point B. That it has totally obliged you. Anything else is, eg. AVOD and
children's toys are extra. The airline has absolutely no obligation in providing these though SQ of course goes the extra mile and does so.
So what if things were not done the way it should. Just ask! No need to 'write a letter of complaint!' over small issues. The cabin crew has more pressing issues to take care of on a full flight than to find kids and give them toys, like perhaps heating up your inflight meal!
As the saying goes.. if you ain't happy, you can always go fly someone else.
