You're correct, if the link is to a commercial site for the purpose of soliciting sales and trying to make money off of the Flyertalk community. At least this was my interpretation of the rules I read before posting the announcement.

Several non-commercial, informational sites have been posted as a FYI for interested Flyertalkers to check out. Refer to farecompare.com, freetravelling.com, travelglitch.com, and most of the offer links in the SPAM forum. Without outside links Flyertalk would suffer - how else can you refer to someone to the actual terms and conditions of the new Delta promotion, for example?
