Emirates has officially requested rights to operate DXB-GIG. The Brazilian Authority ANAC is now considering the request.
I think we could see DXB-GIG or DXB-GIG-EZE late in 2008, after the success of DXB-GRU which is performing superb, and operating very high yields.
The opening of GIG will mean a substantive increase in the Brazilian market in a short period of time, and will also open the "oil route", since Rio de Janeiro is the HQ of PETROBRAS and the location of the majority of oil fields.
