Cheers, Jenbel, we live in hope!
Flying BA CPT-JNB-LHR, the check-in ladies at CPT suggested we collect our bags domestically at JNB and hoof them over to the international terminal, as she said the transfer rate was very poor and it was a better guarantee of our bags coming back to London! So clearly there is an issue at O R Tambo.
As for used driving shoes? There must be a market for them somewhere. How bizarre.
The worst baggage story I heard was KLM in Nigeria, when armed thugs got onto the tarmac as the aircraft was holding before take-off. They opened the hold, and helped themselves to a few suitcases. One pax saw his own bag being carted across the runway whilst sitting in his window seat. Yee gaads!
