That would be optimal, and usually the situation is corrected, but when I am on other flights (I rarely fly US Air) and am in the business class going overseas, you can usually hear kids screaming every 10-15 minutes, so I was just wondering how that is handled. And what happens if a passenger says something.
Its alot easier for us to try to fix the situation before pax start saying something. We don't like it anymore than you do. When I travel with my 1 year old nephew he doesn't scream or even cry so I think that its all up to the adult that is reasponsible.
