VirginAmerica/JetBlue

I searched and didn't see anything related ...

I'm currently reading Blue Streak: Inside jetBlue, the Upstart that Rocked an Industry as a part of my interest in the airlines and vaguely related to my degree work in tourism. I don't know much about jetBlue but remember having vaguely heard of the potential deal with Branson that fell through in the late 90s.

I think the current incarnation of VX is wonderful with just the right blend of service and laissez faire, but can't help but wonder how it could have been different if it had launched in partnership with Neeleman?

Thoughts?

I can't compare jetBlue's product as I've never flown it. I've intended to to on several occasions, but it's never come to be cheapest/most convenient given that I'd have to go to JFK (I work on the west side just 10 blocks from NY Penn). That said, I have chosen to go to JFK to fly VX due to good flight times and a very good price.
