Not to stray too far OT, but "frack" was also from the original Battlestar Galactica, along with "feldercarp" and perhaps one or two other made-up expletives. There's also the silly-sounding "tanj" of the Ringworld universe and similar works, and I'm sure many other invented ways to get around the censors of various forms of discourse. (Relatedly, Battlestar Galactica's robotic Cylons were, according to legend, so robotic so that they could be "killed" on network TV, which wouldn't have allowed so much violence otherwise.)
