I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to make it to my first Gayla after all! I'm now heading to India a few days later for my first visit there, and need to do a bunch of stuff at home to prepare for that trip. (Plus, there's a little bit of dog guilt thrown in since I'll be in India for 2 weeks...those extra 2 nights away in SFO might have pushed my dogs over the edge. lol)

Anyhow, sorry I'll miss getting to meet you guys.

On a related note, I got a room through Priceline that is officially non-refundable AND non-transferable. (It's at the Renaissance Stanford Court.) Does anyone have any experience with getting around the transferable part? Can I call the hotel and say my traveling companion is arriving earlier than me and give them authorization to have someone else check in using my name? (I'll do a search of other forums now to see if there's any relevant posts on this topic elsewhere.)
