I paid for something online last night with my Mastercard - the Mastercard SecureCode window popped up as usual asking me to enter my card details and select a password, but I clicked on 'do not wish to register my card'.
Had a phone call from MBNA this morning at 8am (on a Sunday!) saying they believed there was a fraudalent transaction on my card last night and it would be declined unless I confirmed it was genuine!!
The guy on the phone asked me if I'd seen a window pop up, and I said yes I did but I didn't wish to use the SecureCode system as I thought it was a waste of time. He proceeded to give me a lecture about how you can fall victim to fraud etc. and wouldn't take no for an answer. In the end I just said politely I had to go as I was busy and hung up. Hope they don't phone me again next time I order online...
