I've noticed there are quite a few members here from the Bay Area. Since the Bay Area is dominated by United (SFO) and Southwest (Oakland), I thought I would create a thread asking where Alaska FF members would love Alaska to have service from the Bay Area. Alaska is pretty much useless for business travel out of the Bay Area unless you are only going between the Bay Area and the Pac NW/Alaska. I'd love to see AS beef up service here to take on UA, but I don't see it happening absent UA merging with someone or going Ch. 7.
To more specifically answer your question, I'd like to see better service to SoCal and, more importantly, better connecting options via Seattle or PDX. The Hawaii flights are pretty much useless for Bay Area people, and many of the transcons out of Seattle don't have useable connections (or require a redeye, which are not useful for my type of business traveler). Seriously, if I'd connect in SEA on full F fares just to avoid UA and I'm not alone. Many people in the Bay Area hate United but feel there is no good alternative. Perhaps VX will fill that need.
